Nested

My starting point for this project was investigating protection for the body, feeling cocooned, wrapped up and submerged in the clothing you are wearing. For my designs I took inspiration from homes/vessels within nature that involve growth, movement and texture.

In particular I investigated cocoons, seed pods and bird's nests. To develop my ideas I experimented with the Dubied knitting machine, chunky knitting and hand weaving. This allowed me to create structure within my designs.
