For this project my aim was to produce a range of 100% sustainable knitted samples, showcasing protective casings, using British yarns and fibres. For the designs and colours I looked at caterpillars' life cycles and their defensive behaviours.

I wanted to show a parallel between the protective colours, casings and growth of these insects in the aesthetics of my designs. I was inspired by caterpillars' spiky texture, movement and pattern. For this project i was awarded the Company award bursery from The Framework Knitters Guild.
